Opening times

Edinburgh Forge is currently open on Wednesdays from 7pm – 9pm and Saturdays from 12pm – 4pm. As our membership and community grows we intend to open more frequently, so watch this space.

Safety

We've got lots of tools, all of which can be dangerous if used incorrectly. It is the individual responsibility of each member of Edinburgh Forge to take care when using any of the tools we have, and to ensure that the workshop is kept in a tidy and useable condition.

If you don't know how to use any of the tools in the space do not use them until you have been shown how. There may not always be someone on site who can guide you. If this happens you can try to arrange a time to meet someone who can show you, but please don't be tempted to just dive in and work it out for yourself. Use your best judgement and common sense to ensure that you and those sharing the space with you are safe.

More involved members

If you're really inspired by the project and would like to put in more time and energy then you could become a more involved member. We are looking for enthusiastic, responsible people who would like to take on extra responsibilities (such as skill sharing/supervising on open nights, organising workshops, social media, workshop upkeep, development, applying for funding etc.) in exchange for use of the space outside of opening hours. For health and safety purposes those using the workshop outside of opening hours will require a good knowledge of workshop etiquette and an excellent understanding of the tools they will be using.

If you are interested in becoming more involved please let us know – we'd love to hear from you – team@edinburghforge.com
